The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has pushed back the timeline for several high risk investment products, delaying the launch of GraniteShares proposed 3X leveraged crypto ETFs. The decision puts a hold on funds linked to some of the market’s biggest names, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana, with the new deadline now set for November 30, 2026.
This regulatory pause comes at a particularly sensitive time, arriving just days before the U.S. midterm elections on November 3. By extending the review period, the SEC is effectively keeping these volatile leveraged instruments off the public market for the foreseeable future, leaving investors to wait nearly two years for a final determination.
The delay affects a total of eight different crypto ETFs managed by GraniteShares. While the appetite for leveraged crypto products remains high among aggressive traders, the SEC continues to exercise caution regarding the stability and risk profiles of funds that multiply the daily price movements of digital assets.
